On Monday at around 14:05, an accident occurred near Gramsh, where a vehicle, suspected of traveling at speeds exceeding the allowed limits, lost control and rolled repeatedly, coming to a halt upside down on the side of the road.

As a result, two people in the vehicle – including the driver – were injured. They were extracted from the car and transported to the hospital to receive necessary medical care.

So far, their health condition remains unclear.

Immediately after receiving the notification, police forces and emergency teams arrived at the scene, provided first aid, and secured the perimeter.

Investigative specialists have begun collecting evidence, and based on preliminary data, high speed is considered the main cause of the loss of control. Investigations continue to clarify the exact dynamics of the accident and to determine responsibilities.

Lezhë police have arrested three people accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 28-year-old man over a dispute about unpaid rent for two vehicles.

Among those arrested are two brothers, R.M., 28, and R.M., 22, who run the company from which the cars were rented, along with their cousin E.M., 22.

The incident came to light after a 70-year-old man reported to authorities that his son had been forcibly taken and was being transported against his will by several individuals. Immediately after the report, Lezhë police services managed to identify, locate, and capture the three suspects within minutes.

According to preliminary investigations, the perpetrators acted vigilante, kidnapping the 28-year-old from a gas station in the village of Derven. Their claim was that the young man had not settled payments for the two vehicles rented from the brothers’ business.

Subsequently, they transported the victim to another gas station in the village of Shënkoll, where they assaulted him and then abandoned him on the road. In its statement, police specified that the vehicle used for the forcible taking and transportation of the young man from Krujë to Lezhë was seized.

The 28-year-old was taken to Lezhë Regional Hospital, where he received necessary medical care and was released, being out of danger.

The case has been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Lezhë Court of First Instance, which will investigate the criminal offenses of “Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty,” “Vigilantism,” and “Other Intentional Injuries,” committed in cooperation.

A corn carrier was targeted by Russian missiles near the southern port of Odesa, leaving 10 victims. The vessel “Golden Leo”, flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau, was operated by a crew of Indians and Syrians.

On Sunday, three missiles struck the ship and caused a fire, the Ukrainian navy reported via Telegram.

Socialist MP Zegjine Çaushi has admitted to buying an apartment worth 240,000 euros, after only one year in office as a member of Albania’s Parliament.

From the Parliament, the MP targeted the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, saying he has spread disinformation regarding the apartment, referring to recent news about the purchased property.

Çaushi stated that she has signed a contract for the purchase of the apartment, and that construction has not yet begun. According to her, the price and area of the apartment are completely different from what has been reported in the media.

“Sali, you should be the last person to come here and speak at that podium at that protest. Find me a place in the world where people protest against the government and against its opposition.

That podium is not a platform for your old habit of disinformation. Look me in the eye! Just as you misinformed Albanians a few minutes ago about the Territorial Reform, so you misinformed them about my house.

Socialist MP Zegjine Çaushi has forcefully dismissed the claims of Democratic leader Sali Berisha, who had accused her of buying an apartment in a luxury neighborhood of the capital.

Speaking in Parliament, Çaushi accused Berisha of spreading false information about her home. She clarified that the property in question has been ordered and that the building has not yet entered the construction phase.

“I have signed an agreement for a house whose construction has not even begun yet, Sali, contrary to what you and the press that supports you claim about the price and size. This is your specialty: manipulating the truth,” she said.

She then shifted attention to the opposition rally, calling it a unique global case where citizens gather to oppose simultaneously the executive, the opposition, and its leader.

Në një ndërhyrje të ashpër, ai i cilësoi socialistët si “zhgarravina” dhe akuzoi shumicën se po e shndërron Parlamentin në një institucion të poshtëruar, ku zëri i opozitës dhe i qytetarëve hidhet në kosh.

Ai vuri në dukje se është e turpshme që një kërkesë e sjellë nga grupi tjetër trajtohet me përparësi, ndërsa ajo e opozitës neglizhohet. Sipas tij, qytetarët që protestojnë dhe opozita po trajtohen në mënyrë të papranueshme, dhe Kuvendi po kthehet në një “palo Parlament”. Në fund, ai përsëriti thirrjen për futjen e menjëhershme të kërkesave të tyre në rend dite, duke theksuar se nuk kishte si t’i quante ndryshe maxhorancën, veçse “zhgarravina”.

Si arsye kryesore për këtë vendim, Bytyqi ka përmendur përgjegjësitë e shumta që ka në sektorin privat. Vlen të rikujtohet se sezoni i kaluar, 2024/2025, ishte fatal për skuadrën, e cila pësoi rënie nga kategoria më e lartë e futbollit kosovar.

Në deklaratën e tij, ai e cilësoi dorëheqjen si të pakthyeshme, duke e përshkruar vendimin si të vështirë, por të domosdoshëm për shkak të impenjimeve të tij të shtuara jashtë futbollit. Bytyqi shprehu krenari për arritjet e përbashkëta dhe mirënjohje për besimin që iu dha nga bashkëpunëtorët, lojtarët dhe tifozët.

Megjithë largimin nga detyra zyrtare, Bytyqi siguroi se mbetet një mbështetës i flaktë i klubit. Ai u zotua se do të jetë gjithmonë i gatshëm të kontribuojë me të gjitha mundësitë e tij sa herë që FC Suhareka të ketë nevojë për të. Në fund, ai i uroi suksese udhëheqësisë së ardhshme dhe e siguroi atë për përkrahjen e tij të vazhdueshme.

Deputetja e Partisë Demokratike, Jorida Tabaku, pohoi se forca e saj politike i është drejtuar Kuvendit për heqjen e ligjit të investimeve strategjike që në vitin 2017, por nuk morën asnjë përgjigje.

Gjatë fjalës së saj në Kuvend, ajo nënvizoi se ky ligj nuk i ka sjellë asnjë përfitim vendit, por vetëm ka shpërndarë favore.

“Në vitin 2017 ne propozuam pezullimin e ligjit për investimet strategjike. E kemi vënë në dukje këtë problem që atëherë, por të gjitha thirrjet tona u injoruan. Deri tani, vetëm një investitor i huaj është tërhequr me këtë ligj, ndërsa gjithçka tjetër ka qenë thjesht ndarje privilegjesh. Unë solla një propozim ligjor, por ai u refuzua”, deklaroi ajo.

Tabaku shtoi se Shqipëria nuk ka pse t’i ndajë pronat sikur të ishin në varësi të lidhjeve familjare dhe se nuk mund të ketë dy standarde të ndryshme. “E duam për të drejtat e autorit, por jo për investimet strategjike”, përfundoi ajo.

One of the main items on the agenda is the presentation of the National Council of European Integration Report for the year 2025.

The report will be presented by the co-chairs of this council, in implementation of the law regulating the function of Parliament in the framework of Albania’s negotiations and accession process to the European Union.

Additionally, MPs will examine the draft law “On European Cooperative Societies (ECS),” which aims to align the domestic legal framework with European Union standards in the field of cross-border and economic cooperation.

Afterwards, parliament is expected to discuss and approve eight draft resolutions evaluating the activity of independent institutions and justice bodies for the year 2025.

Specifically, the reports and draft resolutions for the Ombudsman, the High Judicial Council, the High Prosecutorial Council, the Supreme State Audit, the General Prosecution, the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), and the High Justice Inspector will go through the filter.

For each of these items, the reports are expected to be presented by the heads of these bodies, while the Committee for Civic Initiatives, Cooperation, and Institutional Oversight will present the draft resolutions. There will also be room for parliamentary debate, if requested based on the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure.

The plenary session will close with MPs’ discussions on topics not included in the agenda, referring to the provisions of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure.

Balla argumentoi se projektligji për shoqëritë evropiane është i lidhur ngushtë me angazhimet e qeverisë në kuadër të procesit të integrimit në BE, veçanërisht për kapitullin 17.

“Meqenëse ky ligj ka të bëjë me detyrat dhe punën që qeveria po kryen për kapitullin 17 të BE-së, propozoj që të bashkohet me seancën e datës 23, në mbledhjen pasardhëse. Përgëzoj ministrat për punën e tyre”, u shpreh ai.

Pas tij, Gazment Bardhi, kryetari i grupit demokrat, reagoi duke shprehur shqetësimin për mënyrën e hartimit të agjendës. Ai akuzoi shumicën se po pengon nismat ligjore të opozitës.

Sipas tij, prej 7 javësh, katër projektligjet e propozuara nga opozita janë bllokuar, ndërsa ato të maxhorancës po shqyrtohen pa vonesë, çka përbën shkelje të rregullores së Kuvendit.

Duke iu drejtuar kryetarit të Kuvendit, Niko Peleshi, Bardhi kërkoi që, nëse integrimi evropian është argumenti për shtyrjen e ligjeve, atëherë të përfshihen në agjendë edhe katër projektligjet e opozitës.

“Meqë hoqëm për hatër të integrimit, le t’i fusim për hatër të integrimit edhe katër ligjet tona”, tha ai, duke theksuar se mazhoranca po favorizon vetëm nismat e veta.

Pas përfundimit të debateve, ndryshimi i rendit të ditës u vu në votim dhe u miratua me 75 vota për dhe 31 kundër.

Avni Islami, a security analyst, has responded to the statement of what he calls the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government, accusing Belgrade of continuing efforts to relativize the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.

In a Facebook post, Islami wrote that this so-called office commemorates Serbian civilians killed in the Rahovec area in 1999, but never mentions the Albanian civilians who were massacred by Serbia as a result of the genocidal campaign against Albanians that year.

He added that this statement comes just days after a minister of the Serbian Government openly declared that, had she been in power in 1998, she would have carried out ethnic cleansing of Albanians in Kosovo.

Islami stressed that in Serbia’s strategy, the main goal remains the relativization of crimes, ethnic cleansing, and the genocidal campaign carried out against Kosovo Albanians during the 1999 war and earlier. He recalled that although Serbia has a War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office and a War Crimes Department in the High Court in Belgrade, so far no person involved in these macabre crimes has been sentenced to serve time in Serbian prisons. According to him, this is another attempt by the Serbian regime to relativize the crimes that culminated in 1999.

The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has rejected the requests of five prosecutors and 15 support staff members from the Serb community, who aimed to withdraw their resignations and return to the prosecutorial system.

The decision not to re-admit them to duty came after the former Serbian prosecutors collectively left Kosovo institutions in the northern part of the country in November 2022. Later, they expressed their willingness to return to their previous positions.

Following this refusal, the KPK has forwarded to the country’s President the list with the names of the five prosecutors, recommending their dismissal from duty.

Also, during the same meeting, the Council annulled the previous measure that suspended the salaries for Serbian prosecutors and administrative staff.
