Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech at his party's parliamentary group meeting, where he sent extremely harsh messages regarding current political developments in the Middle East, comparing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler.
The Turkish leader emphasized that Israeli attacks on Syria and Lebanon no longer pose a threat only to these two "brotherly countries", but have reached a point where they pose a direct threat to Turkey itself.
"Turkey's security does not only begin in Hatay, but also in Aleppo, Damascus and Beirut. We will not tolerate any act committed in our brotherly nations and we will not turn a blind eye to aggression against them," Erdogan declared.
Referring to the broader picture of the conflict, the Turkish leader stressed that Ankara is fully aware of the ultimate goal behind, as he said, the illusion of creating a "Greater Israel", Reuters reports.
"With God's help, we will never allow this. I want to be very clear: no one should seek adventure and no one should be tied to the wagon of the Zionist network of massacres. If anyone tries to endanger the rights and interests of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots in the Eastern Mediterranean, I want it to be known that our response will be very clear and very firm," the Turkish president said.
He added that Israel, at the same time, is making malicious efforts to destabilize African countries and the Mediterranean region, calling the Zionist administration a "hotbed of rebellion and a factory of division," which constantly produces unrest around the world.
In the most prominent part of his speech, Erdogan compared today's silence of the international community to the ignoring of Nazi Germany on the eve of World War II.
"85 years ago, silence and inaction in the face of Hitler led to the deaths of 80 million people worldwide. All of humanity paid the price for the madness of a deranged tyrant. Today, the same mistake is being repeated. The genocidal actions of the 'butcher of Gaza', Netanyahu, and his cabinet are being observed with the same silence and lack of reaction that once greeted Hitler," he stressed.
Erdogan warned world leaders that the fire never stops just where it started.
"No one should forget that when a fire spreads, it does not burn only in the region where it broke out; its sparks spread throughout the world. Just as today the whole world is paying the price of the unresolved situation in the Strait of Hormuz, if Israeli lawlessness is not put to an end, all of humanity will face the consequences. Israel must be stopped.
